Back from Holiday, new listings, tariffs and more...

I'm back from my holiday in America, I had a great time over there - now its back to business as usual: but this time with more listings and promotion!

It is my intention to not only make more items available, but also to craft some new items exclusive to Keepsake Jewellery - a mixture of flagship items to show what I can craft at the high end, but also some items at a lower price point to encourage sales. This will take a few weeks to physically construct items, so I would say watch this space, but its probably wiser to say check back in about a months time...

Meanwhile I have a slight problem with the USA tariffs switch: you may have heard about this from other businesses but to summarize its as follows: as of the 21st of August, the USA is suspending the "de minimis" part of import duties, which previously excluded parcels valued at less than $800 from tariffs and charges, the problem is that whilst correct tariffs will be applied from the 21st September, for the intervening month whilst they change the system it will be charged at $80 per parcel on everything that previously would have had no fees at all.

This means that anything I ship to the USA in this time will be subject to a customs/tariff charge of $80 no matter what I do - even though many of my items would only incur charges of a maximum of $5-8 after the 21st of September. Therefore I recommend that any orders placed during the next few weeks be delayed in terms of shipping to the USA until the 21st of September. I will put warnings up on my shop and items, but I felt it best to state this up front somewhere!

Please note that this does not affect shipping to any other countries, so if you are in the UK, Europe, Canada or elsewhere (that isn't the USA), shipping will be as normal.

Apart from that, things are getting back to normal - I'll be listing jewellery, taking things away from my old Etsy store and listing them here on Shopify instead.
